IGT GROUP
On 15 January 2002 a further turning point in the life of the Company occurred: Tito plant was transferred to PCC GIOCHI E SERVIZI SPA through a spin-off and a sale of the company branch. The control of the Company was acquired, first 51% and subsequently 100%, by the LOTTOMATICA Group.
On 29 August 2006 Lottomatica Spa completed the take-over of GTECH Corporation for € 4 billion, creating the world’s largest gaming and betting group.
On 3rd June 2013 Lottomatica Group announced the rebranding of the group taking the name of GTECH SpA while Lottomatica SpA remained a branch of the group.
In July 2014 GTECH SpA formalized the launch of negotiations for the acquisition of the American International Game Technology, Inc. with an offer of 6,4 billion US dollars, of which 4,7 in cash and 1,7 in debt assumed. The Companies would have merged in a single entity based in theUnited Kingdom and with the IGT brand used as an effigy.
On 7 April 2015 GTECH completed the merger with IGT Inc. taking the name International Game Technology, PLC. On the same day the prices of the new stock on the New York Stock Exchange begin, after closing the stock on the Milan Stock Exchange.
